When Hurricane Melissa tore across Jamaica, it didn’t just damage homes and communities—it shook the entire spirit of our island. Families were displaced, daily life was disrupted, and the nation felt a deep sense of heaviness. Yet, even in the middle of destruction, Jamaica showed the world who we are.

We are small in size, but powerful in unity. We are a people who rise together. And when one of us hurts, all of us move to help. That spirit was clearly seen through the Church Of the First Born Hurricane Melissa Relief efforts.

A Nation Coming Together

At Grace Gospel Hall, we firmly believe that faith is more than words—it is action, compassion, and community. In the wake of the hurricane, we saw people giving from their hearts, offering what they could, and choosing hope over fear.

The National Social Welfare Commission extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, volunteered, prayed, and showed up for those affected.

A Powerful Turnout on Collection Day

The relief collection held on November 15, 2025, was a tremendous success. Donations came pouring in from church communities across the island. Essential items, food supplies, and contributions of all kinds helped us take a solid step toward rebuilding lives impacted by the storm.

What made the day even more special was the presence of dedicated volunteers—people who took time out of their schedules to sort, organize, uplift, and serve with compassion. Their hands and hearts helped turn a simple collection day into a moment of unity and restoration.

And this is just the beginning—don’t miss the next collection date! We’ll be announcing it soon, and we look forward to another powerful turnout.

Rebuilding, Restoring, Rising

Hurricane Melissa may have tried to weaken our nation, but together we are rising stronger than before. Every donation, every hour volunteered, every prayer whispered—each one is a brick being added back to someone’s foundation.

As we continue the coordination and distribution process, we will keep you updated. The work doesn’t stop here, and neither does the love.

Thank you for being part of a movement that brings hope, joy, and strength to those affected. Together, Jamaica is rebuilding—one act of kindness at a time.
